Basement waterproofing keeps water out of the basement. We install interior drain tile that carries water to a sump pump, put in new sump pumps and battery backup pumps, and seal cracks in basement walls. If the basement is wet now, we clean it up and dry it first, then fix the cause.
What to do right now
- Note where the water comes in: walls, floor, floor drain or window wells.
- Check that downspouts carry water away from the house.
- Take photos of where water shows up.
What do we install?
- Interior drain tile. A drain pipe set in a channel along the inside edge of the basement floor. It collects water coming through the walls or up from under the floor and carries it to a sump pump.
- Sump pumps. New pumps and pits, or a replacement for a pump that is too small or worn out.
- Battery backup pumps. A second pump that keeps running when a storm knocks out the power.
- Crack sealing. We seal cracks in poured concrete walls where water seeps in.
How do we decide what you need?
We look at where the water comes in and when. Water at the joint where the wall meets the floor points to drain tile. Water through one crack can often be fixed by sealing that crack. A basement that floods only when the power goes out may need a backup pump. We explain what we found and what we recommend before any work starts.
What causes a wet basement?
- Gutters and downspouts dumping water next to the house
- Ground that slopes toward the foundation
- Cracks in poured walls or mortar joints in block walls
- Window wells that fill with water
- A sump pump that fails or is too small
- Water coming up through the floor drain from the sewer
Some of these are fixed outside. Clean gutters, extend downspouts and grade soil away from the house. A plumber can add a backwater valve for floor drain backups.
Is the basement wet right now?
Then cleanup comes first. See basement flooding cleanup. Once it is dry, we can fix the cause. We handle your project from start to finish.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you install basement waterproofing?
Yes. We install interior drain tile, sump pumps, battery backup pumps and crack sealing.
What is the difference between waterproofing and water damage cleanup?
Cleanup removes water that already got in and dries the space. Waterproofing keeps water from getting in next time. We do both.
Is a battery backup sump pump worth it?
If your basement floods when the power goes out, yes. It keeps pumping during an outage.
Why does my basement get wet after rain?
Most often it is gutters, downspouts or grading sending water toward the house, or a sump pump that cannot keep up.
